Laws of Simplicity // Image

Print, Book, Photography
Typography, Book Design

This project was short and expanded on the idea of layout, using image as a way to communicate over words. I chose to focus on the material from “law 2, organize” which centered around the idea of by reducing fluff when designing.

I photographed various instances of messes and grids, my idea of two contrasting elements. The photos of messes were meant to express the texture of an organized area, while the grid photos were the absence of texture but I made sure to include photos where the ideas overlap. The limited text chosen expressed the chapter’s message, less is more.

I learned the importance visual content like photos can enhance the meaning of a body of text in more thematically relevant ways, not making them pieces of fluff to fill a page.
